TABLE WOODWORKING PLANS
Every woodworker at some point, may build a coffee table. Because table woodworking plans are often variations on similar themes, we’ve hit up our favorite site on do it yourself projects – Woodworking4home – to see if we could find something a little different from the norm. Just because you’re building something that many before you have constructed doesn’t mean you have to build exactly the same thing, right?

So without further ado, here are four great table ideas that might spice up your next build, and maybe your living room as a side effect.
Oak Pedestal Coffee Table Plan
Based on a solid stock and featuring the weight and quality only oak can provide, this project is a real head-turner. Based on the table woodworking plans, this wood table comes complete with an expandable table leaf and hidden drawers at each end. With leg shapes reminiscent of similar tables from the 1930’s, this massive and attractive table adds a touch of the new while still keeping things classic.
Danish Modern Coffee Table Plan
If heavy and classic isn’t your style, you may want to try something a little more light and modern. Using just a few planks of wood, a bit of glue, and a whole lot of smoothing and sanding, you’ll have a minimalist and open-looking table in just six simple steps. Don’t forget to finish the table with natural Danish oil for that extra touch of quality. If you’re interested in stylistic and one-of-a-kind table woodworking plans, there are plenty more at Woodworking4home.
Lounge Room Coffee Table Plan
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a basic, four-legged coffee table. You don’t need to build a vintage throwback or modern art piece if you don’t want to. If basic but pretty is more your style, these table woodworking plans will instruct you on how to build your every day common table, but with a bit of style. This plan is specifically developed with the do it yourselfer in mind; it boasts no complicated joint cuts and can be completely assembled with bolts, screws and/or glue.
Cedar Block Coffee Table Plan
Similar to the lounge table above, this table features the basic “four legs and a top” design that we’ve come to expect out of a coffee table. However, the tabletop consists of thick, equally sized strips of cedar glued together with the grain exposed (similar to a cutting board). The end result is a table that carries a natural grace and sense of style to it. We love the way this table looks with a clear polyurethane coat on it – natural and sleek.
As we said, almost everyone builds a coffee table at some point. Thanks to the folks at Woodworking4home, though, not everyone has to build the same one. Take a look at their site and you’ll find over 14,000 blueprints and project ideas, and they’re not just limited to table woodworking plans.
